Tgf Poker is on the boss network, along with other
sites like poker heaven. Unlike poker heaven it is
targetted to a Uk audience. As far as I have found
the service is excellent and the range of games and
amount of players is pretty standard. Any way on with
what the site has to offer.
The download
The download of tgf poker is approx 4.3mb, which is
pretty standard. Unlike other sites even with my slow
laptop once downloaded it updated itself and allowed
me to sign up really effortlessly. Once signed up
I deposited which was a pleasent suprise in that the
min deposit is just $20 (little over £10). This
again was easy, even with my UK debit card.
The tables
Like every room online I have tried there is a nice
mix of games, cash tables, sit and go's and MTT's.
There are many features with this site that I like,
including the ability to only play on tables with
UK players. TGF poker has alot more lower stake sit
and go tournaments than other rooms, as well as several
bigger tournaments. One area this site is not as strong
with is the multi table tournaments where there are
considerably less avaliable at any particular time.
The tournaments also start when the amount of players
reaches a set number as opposed to a start time announced
in advance. I prefer the ipoker network for MTT's
(reviews here). Despite the lower amount of players
the site tournaments fill up quickly and I have not
had to wait around for long as of yet.
The players
Well what can I say, i am up overall after
3 hours of play on the room. Although the players
are not as loose as on many sites bluffing more than
usual can lead to lost tournaments or a dent in the
wallet after a session on the cash tables. The players
don't chat much not a big deal but a bit of banter
while playing is always good. I would say from the
games I have played the overall view is that the skill
level is varied but lower levels the players aren't
gamblers, more like poker players which means the
river will not be hated as much on this site. With
regards to higher level play the site could do with
more tournaments offering middle amount buy ins instead
of large jumps to the top end buyins.
My thoughts
I find myself opening this room first in
the list at the moment and I can't put my finger on
why. I love the software, the play is good, the customer
service is some of the best I have come across, I
also like the fact that TGFpoker doesn't allow instant
access to casino games like 888 and other rooms, meaning
after you win a fortune your winning streak comes
to an end as you bet your £50 profit on blackjack
on the side.
Thank goodness for TGFPOKER, I think the site is
great but could do with having more players and a
bigger variety of MTT's.
