The download
After heading over to bodog I noticed that everything seemed simple enough even though bodog offers not just poker but casino and betting. I signed up deposited my minium amount of $20(wow £10) Just to get the feel of things. I then downloaded the software of 3mb or so. This is one of the smallest downloads for a poker site I have come across and is ideal for slower connections. I noticed that once downloaded it is possible to play on play money tables without the need for a deposit. I found the set up of bodog poker rather simple and quick.

The tables

Well one area of the site that I do like is the pre lobby...yes you heard correctly, there is a lobby to get you onto a table quickly. It is similar to the Mansion interface and is smooth and easy to view. Bodog offers a range of cash games and tournaments, both sit and go as well as MTT's. I like the spacing and the real time signup to tables. It is unlike other rooms such as those on the ipoker network and 888 where you find you do not have a place dispite the initial click. This site is ideal for new players as there is enough going on without it being to over the top. One thing I will say about the tables on bodog is that they are not quite as packed as other rooms. But the time you spend in waiting is paid off with the endless supply of rubbish players :-D.

As mentioned above at peak times there are around 4000 players. This is enough but a few more wouldn't hurt, especially early in the morning. There are still alot of gobby American idiots around on Bodog, but no site can be perfect. The chatter is not as good as other sites but this is fine for me as I tend to concentrate on the cards not the ramblings.

The software

I have included this section mainly because it is needed. The software is Bodogs hidden gem. Like on full tilt poker you can have avators and change the felt colour. These are good gimmicks but the main bit I LOVE..is that the site has not crashed on me once. It loads fast, the gameplay is fast, there is no lag. It is a players paradise once your in the game. I like the way you can include a variety of tables in tabs like your web browser and that everything is layed out well. One area I haven't found yet is the payout structure. This is one major floor in the software but it could just be me not noticing it.

Bonus Amounts
Bonuses are what attracts some people to poker sites and playing online. I prefer to go to a better room with better service and more fish than worry about bonuses. Bodog does have a bonus system in place. It offers a 10% on an unlimited amount for your first deposit. True this isn't a 6000% bonus up to £2million but how are you going to work that bonus off any way. I think although it isn't the best bonus it is quite standard and does let the site down in a way.

My thoughts
Well like most online sites I like this site quite a bit. I am a simple man and like my poker rooms the same. This room is clean simple and works well at what it wants to do. This I think is the best thing about it, you can play on it without worries, you can deposit a low amount at a time. You can withdraw for free to a credit or debit card and you can squander your bankroll on the casino(not always a good thing). Bodog has a bit of work required to match up to other sites however next to TGF poker and Betfred this is one of my main hangouts. I have managed to work my original $20 deposit up to nearly $300 so far and don't plan on stopping there.
