Old Fred has jumped on the poker bandwagon. Betfred poker amongst other big names are using the playtech network. If its good enough for titan its good enough for betfred. Betfred got me into online poker several years ago when playing my friends just wasn't possible all the time. Lets see how well he compares to the other rooms avaliable nowadays!

The download
Well, the download like many sites downloads a small file to then download the larger gaming software. The download time seemed quick and easy. Signing up was rather simple and was completed within a few minutes. The magic with betfred as opposed to titan they don't ask for your drivers licence, left arm, and total proof of yourself just because you didn't deposit with neteller or other ewallet service. Betfred has simple easy deposit and withdraw with all methods meaning its ideal for a quick game here and there as well as a primary poker room choice.

The tables
As Betfred is on the playtech network the tables are always very busy. This in some ways is a slight disadvantage as it means sometimes it is hard to grab a seat on the next sit and go. The large amount of players does mean that when you do join a table it fills out quickly and gameplay is good. The site offers a range of all games and buyins/blinds. The minimum deposit is around £5 and the site operates in dollars and so even for a quick try out you don't have to spend the earth. The play on Betfred is hard to describe, sometimes the players can be world class, sometimes there are fishes galore. The main reason there are more experienced players mixed with idiots is because, some sites on the ipoker network are specific to poker and some, like betfred attract bored casino players, it doesn't matter as all sites mix and match players.

The bonuses
It might just be me putting in large amounts of cash, but the bonus amounts are low but much more frequent than other sites reviewed. The sign up bonus is not the best, however signup bonuses are not the be all and end all as then you have to clear them. My thoughts
I have been playing online for quite a while now, and I think that betfreds good customer service and easy in and out with cash is the main benefit for the site. I like the busy tables, I like the range of games and buy ins/blinds. The one area of the site I can't stand, is on occasion the server breaks down. It is easy to get a refund and the staff are very helpful but it sometimes is the pure inconvenience of leaving a tournament half way through. On the plus side it can be an advantage when your short stacked and you get a refund :-D.

I think betfred poker is a good site for regular players who fancy a quick game here and there. If you are a more hardcore player and have fallen in love with the playtech software like I have, I suggest titan poker is ideal.
