Absolute Poker review
Absolute poker is one of the established names in
the online poker industry. However is has recently
scarred the online poker world with allegations that
one of the players on the site was cheating. On one
hand, yes this is a big worry but the site have responded
to the problem and normal service has resumed. We
still quite like absolute poker however some of the
more sceptical players might want to look at pokerstars
or something on the playtech network such as bluesq,
betfred or VC poker.
The download
The download was very easy to find on the site, there
is a massive big red button in the middle of the main
page and also after a few moments on the home page,
you get a pop up asking if you want to download it.
As for the file size, it was about 5mb, which is ok
(even on a modem speed it shouldn’t take too
long). Once downloaded and double click to install
the file. You will be requested to set an account
up; but don’t worry; you will not have to part
with your life savings. You will be sent an email
to make sure you are authentic and a few moments after
you can confirm your registration and start playing.
Online Poker Bonuses
The tables
As you would expect from any poker room these days,
they offer: Texas Holdem, but also offer Omaha and
Stud. With cash tables, Multi Table tournaments and
sit & go; this can also be played in the “Fun
money area”, which will allow you to get some
practice in before you dive in to the real money tables.
The actual layout of the tables has a very classic
look and feel to them, which is always a sign of a
well established poker room. You can upload a picture
to use as your icon and also change the color of a
few area; nothing on a massive scale though.
Game play is easy enough to follow, with plenty of
options for you to lay about with in game. Also the
chat area can be moved to the side of the room, which
I always feel give you more space and makes the game
play easier to follow.
The “Fun Money” tables seem to be full
of people from America, which means you will be able
to get some good practice in. They don’t tend
to play silly and very rare you will see more than
one person going all in at the start.
Overall the tables have a nice feel and are easy to
follow, I am sure you will find a level of play on
here that will suite your game play and also budget.
On the higher level of game play side there are regular
weekend games which include a guaranteed prize pool
of $150,000 (Saturday) and $60,000 (Sunday). Oh and
also they offer satellite games to allow you to qualify
for the WSOP.
Bonus Amounts
The sign up bonus is not the highest amount I have
seen. However, they offer up to $250 sign up bonus
(site t&c apply). This is nothing to grumble about,
but they also offer another bonus amount. Sign your
friends up and you can earn extra bonus amounts; $75
for you and also $50 for your friend. So what are
you waiting for, were your best friend and sign up
though us and you should get the extra amounts. This
is the best sign up bonus scheme I have seen so far
and can see why the site is a popular choice.
My thoughts
On first impressions this was a very old fashioned
looking or classic looking poker site (which isn’t
always a bad thing). The main thing is you will be
able to play a poker game that you enjoy on here.
Get all your friends to sign up and get them to keep
you well stocked up on chips; they will also get a
bonus for signing up as your friend, so getting them
to get the beers in down the local is the least they
can do. Also once you have got a few friends signed
up (which shouldn’t be a problem), have a shot
at a WSOP poker qualifier or a shot at the big money
at the weekend. Sign up today through us and also
get your friends to visit our site and sign up through
our advertising for extra bonus amounts*. When you
win the WSOP don’t forget who your friends are
and who introduced you to Absolute Poker, where the
dream really can begin.
